We regret to inform you the straights are at it again… Alt-right Straight Pride parade will return this month

The organisers of Boston’s Straight Pride, who have links to far-right organisations and anti-Semitic hate groups, are back with plans for a parade in Dallas.
The Texas Straight Pride parade, due to be held on 16 November, is being organised by Super Happy Fun America, which is an anti-LGBT+ group.
An announcement for the Texas Straight Pride event says that “our constitutional republic” is “continually under attack”, according to Out magazine.
The parade also wants to bring “attention to the sexualisation and corruption of America’s children” and is supporting an event called “Protect our Next Generation”.
According to Out, “Protect our next generation” is a reference to the “Fourteen Words”, a white supremacist and Nazi rallying cry: “We must secure the existence of the White Aryan people and a future for white children.”
Marchers at Boston’s Straight Pride on September 1 found themselves outnumbered by more than 1,000 counter-protestors who “drowned out” their planned anti-gay speeches.
The application for the march permit indicated organisers expected up to 2,000 people to join the right-wing event. But The Guardian reported that only a few hundred Straight Pride supporters attended and were “dwarfed” by pro-LGBT+ crowds.
As they marched under signs reading “It’s Great To Be Straight’”and “Make Normalcy Normal Again”, they were revealed to be far from the “oppressed majority” they claim to be.
The mile-long procession was flanked by hundreds of counter-protestors shouting “Shame on you”, “Boston hates you”, and “Alt right, get off our streets, no justice, no peace.”
“Straight people are an oppressed majority. We will fight for the right of straights everywhere to express pride in themselves without fear of judgement and hate. The day will come when straights will finally be included as equals among all of the other orientations,” the president of Super Happy Fun America, John Hugo, says on its website.
The “Protect Our Next Generation” event is apparently taking place at Dallas City hall on November 16.
