Only two people went to Dallas Straight Pride – not even the organiser turned up
Two white men were the only attendees of Dallas Straight Pride yesterday, with not even the organiser of the event turning up.
Dallas Straight Pride was announced earlier this month by the same group, Super Happy Fun America, who organised the Boston Straight Pride parade.
Super Happy Fun America has links to far-right organisations and anti-Semitic hate groups.
In Dallas yesterday (November 16), just two people showed up for Straight Pride – an event set up, organisers claim, to represent the “oppressed majority” of heterosexual people.
The Dallas Voice reports that both attendees were from out of town. One claimed to have been kicked out of his home and fired from his job for being straight.
Around 20 counter-protestors also showed up outside the city hall, carrying trans flags.
One of the Straight Pride attendees shouted insults at the trans counter-protestors, saying, “We know there are only two genders.”
He also said, “I’m part of the oppressed majority.”
Teresa Stephens Richenberger, of the group Protecting Our Next Generation, has been named as the organiser of Dallas Straight Pride.
However, Richenberger was not seen at Dallas city hall yesterday.
According to the event listing on Facebook from Protecting Our Next Generation, several people were due to speak at Dallas Straight Pride and more than 300 people had been interested in going.
“We are hosting a March to bring awareness to the fact that we as the American people are allowing our values and morals to be compromised! We need to stand up and stop this from happening!!!” the event listing reads.
“We are strong conservative Christians who are standing up for our Biblical values.
“We will be discussing: Sex/Human Trafficking, Legalized Prostitution, Marriage values (One man and one woman), Abortion (It is murder), Genders (There are only two; XX as female and XY as male), Ploys of the RADICAL left wing LGBTQ groups trying to shut down our businesses and churches, Drag Queen Story Times (Stop pushing this onto our children).”
It is not clear why so few people showed up or why the event organisers did not appear.
