Girls Aloud just spilt some tea so scolding, multiple Twitter users are suffering third-degree burns after an old interview resurfaced of the band reading the Pussycat Dolls to, and we cannot stress this enough, filth.

The 2006 MTV interview was resurrected by Twitter following the news that the Pussycat Dolls are reuniting this year. They sealed the deal over the weekend with a gig on the X Factor.

In the chat, Cheryl Tweedy criticised Nicole Scherzinger by insisting that she couldn’t cut it as a solo artist as she “doesn’t stand out as amazing at all” while the other Pussycat Dolls “can’t sing”.

Fetch us the aloe vera gel, please.

Old interview of Girls Aloud obliterating the Pussycat Dolls goes viral.

The video, which is set to be selected for preservation by the British Film Institute and archived for further generations, also saw Tweedy brand the Pussycat Dolls as “dancers” rather than singers.

Kimberly Walsh then added: “I think what they’re doing at the moment, and the idea to have [Scherzinger] as the front girl, and the girls behind, it works.

“It does work and I do think they’ve had a good album. But they have killed it a bit.”

But Walsh was tame in comparison to Tweedy, who didn’t hold back on her opinion when asked whether the Pussycat Dolls’ success were down to Scherzinger’s vocals.

“I don’t know, you never get the chance to hear anybody else, so you just assume she is,” she said.

“Apart from that girl that really annoys me, that goes, ‘yehhh’, all the time, you never really hear anybody else.”

999, we’d like to report a murder.

Cheryl Tweedy: ‘I don’t think [the Pussycat Dolls] can sing.’

She added that Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Suta and Kimberly Wyatt are good dancers and they can put on a good show.

Tweedy continued: “When you’ve got dancers like that, the performances are alike just like wow, it’s like breathtaking.”

Girls aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts then jumped in: “I’d like to hear them sing.”

But Tweedy snapped: “I don’t think they can, I think they are more dancers.”

She then opined that Scherzinger couldn’t pursue a solo career due to the cornucopia of “fantastic solo artists” out there.

“You’re up against so many fantastic solo artist out there – Beyonce , Christina, Britney… when she’s at her best. Can you keep up with that?

“I don’t think she stands out at all.”

‘Who put 50p in Cheryl?’: Twitter, like Tweedy, in no way holds back.

Hundreds of “mid-noughthies gays” gathered to recount what was deemed the “best interview Girls Aloud ever did”.

“Who put 50p in Cheryl?” joked Adam, a gold-standard reference to Drag Race’s UK‘s Cheryl Hole.
