Adam Lambert’s ‘holiday gift’ to fans is a Cher cover and it’s amazing

Adam Lambert has released a cover of ‘Believe’ by Cher as a “holiday gift” to fans, a year after he first performed the song and made Cher herself cry.
In December 2018, Lambert performed an acoustic version of the iconic song ‘Believe’ at the Kennedy Center Honors.
Responding to the performance, Cher wrote on Twitter at the time: “Tried to write feelings about Adam Lambert singing ‘Believe’ in words, but can’t seem to.
“When your senses are overwhelmed, all you [can] feel [is] with your heart.”
Now, a year later, Lambert has given his fans (or glamberts) what they’ve been waiting for.
He wrote on Twitter: “It’s been a year since I performed this cover live for Cher. A lot of you have mentioned wanting a studio recording- so here’s a little holiday gift from me to you.
“Thank you for being the most loyal and dedicated fans this queen could ask for!”

Glamberts were thrilled with their Christmas present, and took to Twitter to praise Lambert for the cover.
One wrote: “This was truly one of the best covers ever done. What a wonderful gift! But no gift is greater the gift of being your fan, Adam. So thank you.”
Another said: “You always bring us glamberts to tears with every performance you do you put so much emotion and soul into it. We glamberts always have to bring tissues with us when we see you perform.”

Lambert recently said that pop stars like Sam Smith coming out as non-binary today is similar to pop stars coming out as gay 10 years ago.
He told NME that he was “so proud” of Smith for speaking their truth, and added: “At some point, you have to break through the ceiling and discuss trans or non-binary issues and I’m so proud of Sam – they’re really doing a bold thing.
“It’s time. A lot of the negative reaction to it is because people are just not being empathetic.”
