Mel B says what she really, really wants is for new partners to go for a joint sexual health check with her
If you wanna be her lover, you’ve got to get down to the sexual health clinic with Mel B.
Mel B says she makes sure she has a frank conversation with new parters about their sexual health before she lets ‘2 Become 1’.
“I do think it’s important to have that conversation before you have sex with them. I’ve done it,” she told Badoo’s The Truth Flirts podcast.
“You’d be surprised if it’s just part of the conversation how willing and able that conversation’s outcome ends up being.”
The singer said that once she can see “it’s heading down that area”, she tells prospective lovers: “Let’s go to the clinic together and get it done.”
If she wasn’t already our favourite Spice Girl (sorry Melanie C)…
Mel B on educating her children about sex.
Mel B also spoke about educating her three daughters, who grew up in LA, about sex.
“Obviously my 20-year-old knows everything about sex but I started talking about sexual relationships and just the word sex when she was about 13 because I thought ‘I don’t know how the system is in America, I don’t know how in depth they go,'” she said.
“So, she was very well educated by me and it kind of made us closer. In the beginning it was really awkward but I just thought there’s no better way to do it than for you to hear it from me.”
She added: “I think if the schools aren’t doing it, as a parent you have to do it. It’s your job whether you’re raising girls or boys.”
You fall in love with whoever you fall in love with
Mel B has previously spoken candidly about her fluid sexuality – famously dropping the bombshell claim that she’d had sex with bandmate Geri Halliwell back in their ’90s heyday (which Geri has denied).
Appearing on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories in May, while she and Geri were on their Spice World 2019 tour, Mel said: “I don’t think I have to because you fall in love with whoever you fall in love with,” she said.
“And I just don’t have a preference.”
