The Chase star Paul Sinha marries his long-term partner Olly following Parkinson’s diagnosis
Quizmaster and star of the hit UK show The Chase Paul Sinha has announced he has married his partner Olly nearly a year after the pair got hitched in January.
In a blog post, the comedian, 49, described the “wonderful” ceremony and how he had the “f***ing time of my life”.
Getting married in front of 38 loved ones, then sharing a meal with 75 guests and then hitting a party with 300, Sinha even sang a self-written song during the special day.
It comes after the TV personality was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in May this year.
TV comedian describes the ‘greatest day of my life’ in tear-jerking blog post.
Sinha, known as the Sinnerman on the gameshow, described the intimate ceremony taking place in a registry office, complete with one of his best men giving a reading of the lyrics to ‘Love Comes Quickly’ by the Pet Shop Boys.
However, as is custom on the big day, Sinha said that not everything went to plan.
“For the longest hour-and-a-quarter of my life, everything went wrong,” Paul wrote.
“I am about to have an absolute breakdown, when a friend takes me outside the pub, and says: ‘This is your wedding. Things go wrong.
“‘When I got married, you wouldn’t believe how many things went wrong. This is your day.
“‘These are your people. Now, go out there and enjoy yourself’.
“Instead of destroying the greatest day of my life, I then went on to have the greatest day of my life, as friends and family thoroughly enjoyed drinking, dancing, and ignoring the canapés (on which I had spent thousands).”
He later added that he didn’t think about his diagnosis “once” during the day.
“All I thought was how lucky I was to have lived a life where my friends and family are amazing.
“On to married life.”
