Pop singer Slayyyter exposed for racist tweets sent from Camila Cabello fan account
Singer Slayyyter has been forced to apologise after countless racist tweets were unearthed on her since-deactivated Twitter account.
Years of offensive tweets were excavated by a user on December 26 on the ‘Daddy AF’ singer’s former account which she used in the early 2010s to tweet about fellow musician Camila Cabello.
Slayyyter has since delivered an apology over the “appalling” tweets, which included repeated uses of the n-word.
The 22-year-old was once described in 2018 as the “future of pop music” and has collaborated with Chari XCX and Kim Petras.
What did the singer tweet exactly?
Countless screenshots of old tweets were dragged up by Slayyyter’s @camilkadowbello account, which she frequently used in 2012, according to screenshots.

Moreover, exchanges that the account had with other users on several Twitter threads appeared to confirm the handle was once used by the singer, Twitter sleuths said, spilling out of an account that tweeted such slurs alongside support for Cabello’s former band, Fifth Harmony.

Slayyyter: ‘I am sorry for letting you down.’
Many users were quick to point out that the allegations of Slayyyter using the n-word on her old account came just after Cabello was caught in the crossfire herself over similar accusations earlier this month.
As the singer’s mentions were flooded with condemnation, the resulting backlash bubbled until Slayyyter, known off-stage as Catherine Slater, issued an apology.
“I am sorry for letting you down,” she wrote on her Notes App.
She continued: “7-8 years ago I had a One Direction/Fifth Harmony ‘sass’ account (that’s what they were called before the word ‘stan’ became a thing).
“I was extremely annoying and cringe and would use slurs and say other things online because I thought I was being edgy or funny.

“As I matured, I realised it is never funny or cool to use those words under any circumstances.
“Very shortly after this period of time I realised the way I was tweeting was disgusting and ignorant and I stopped.”
She added: “I have grown and changed so much in the past eight years and the person I am today is not who I was at age 15.
“Eight years is a lot of time to reflect, grow, mature and better yourself as a human being. And I know that being young or uneducated about the matter also does not excuse any of these things, but please know that people do change.”
