Lindsay Lohan said she’s planning to make a big return to the US in 2020, and we haven’t been this excited for a comeback since the great Jenaissance of 2019.
The singer, actor and ambassador to Mykonos said she’s ready to take back “the life I’ve worked so hard for” this new year.
Appearing via satellite link from her home in Muscat, Oman, she told CNN New Year’s Eve hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen: “I’m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I’m doing something soon in this new year.”

Lohan has spent the past few years living a relatively low-key life in the Middle East, swapping acting and singing for a career as a nightclub owner.
But with her Mykonos club apparently shuttered and plans for a proposed “Lindsayland” island resort off the coast of Dubai yet to come to fruition, the Life Size artiste says she is ready for a return to the entertainment business.
Lohan began her career as a child star, appearing in films such as The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday.
Adult fame came with Mean Girls, Tina Fey’s camp classic. At around the same time she enjoyed a short-lived music career, beginning the seminal teen angst anthem ‘Rumors’.
With lyrics such as “Why can’t you just let me / Do the things I wanna do” and “Why can’t they let me live / I’m gonna do it my way”, the song inspired a generation of gays to stage dramatic coming outs, and will surely top all eventual best songs of the century lists.
Lindsay Lohan teases musical comeback.
In August, the Liz & Dick thespian teased a return to music when she played a snippet of a song titled ‘Xanax’, which promises to be just as groundbreaking in its lyricism.
“I got social anxiety, but you’re like Xanax to me, yeah / Social anxiety, when you kiss me, I can’t breathe”, she chants over a pulsating EDM beat, like a four-on-the-floor Regina Spektor.
The former Ungaro designer described the track as being about “anxiety and the pressure and taking care of yourself”, and later leaked parts of what looked like a music video to IGTV.
Lohan also spent part of 2019 in Australia, judging its version of The Masked Singer.
It has since been reported that she “is being replaced” for the singing competition’s second season, but hey. Australia’s loss is our gain.
The Masked Singer was Lohan’s second foray into reality TV that year, following her short-lived MTV show, Lohan’s Beach Club, about which the less said, the better.
