London gay bar throws mammoth 12 hour drag-a-thon to rise vital funds for devastating Australia bushfires

Two Brewers, a gay bar in south London, is planning a fundraiser to raise money to combat the fires in Australia.
The devastating fires have been ongoing for several weeks and have already killed one billion animals and 24 people. They have also destroyed more than 2,000 homes and 25 million acres of land.
The Clapham bar will begin the fundraiser at 2pm pushing all the way on until 2am. There will be 17 acts in total during the event with the bar and drag queens raising money for an exceptionally good cause, doing whatever is in their power to help those suffering across the world.
Entry fee to the bar’s event will cost £8 and people will be able to make donations directly at the bar. They have also set up a Just Giving fundraising page. All of the donations and entry fee funds will be given to WIRES, the Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation, and the New South Wales firefighters.
New South Wales is the region in Australia that has been most affected by the fires.

There is an extensive line up for the event, including Baga Chipz, runner-up of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season one. Other performers include Karla Bear, Lola Lasagne, Kelly Wilde and Shae G’Day. Karla Bear and Shae G’Day are both Australian-themed drag performers bring an authentic flavour to the event.
January 26 is also Australia Day, which is an annual holiday that commemorates the British arriving in Australia, making the event all the more special. Australia has a large LGBT+ community, who remain strong and proud despite political setbacks, continuing to march in large-scale pride events every year. Sydney, which has also been greatly affected by the fires, also annually hosts the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which began in 1970 as a solidarity protest with Stonewall rioters.
