Mariah Carey is rumoured for Brighton Pride and it’s already the most important event that’s ever happened
Mariah Carey is reportedly set to headline Brighton Pride 2020 and the internet simply cannot cope.
Mariah will follow in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears in topping the Brighton Pride bill this year, according to reports.
A source told The Sun that the Elusive Chanteuse will perform a 45-minute set and will be paid a “six-figure fee”.
“Brighton Pride has set a precedent in the last few years for getting the biggest names, so securing Mariah is brilliant in proving they are one of the leading Pride events worldwide,” they added.
The news left Mariah fans screaming in perfect whistle tone.

The booking would appear to be a canny move for Brighton Pride, which has been criticised in recent years for overcrowding and poor transport organisation.
Me, 2018: A solemn vow to never EVER go Brighton Pride after the horrific crowd experience and _that_ train crush
Me, 2020: Mariah’s there, duh OF COURSE I’ll be there

Should Mariah play Brighton Pride, which takes place from July 31 to August 2, it will mark the singer’s first UK dates since her 2019 Royal Albert Hall residency.
The singer played the hallowed hall to promote her 15th album Caution. At the end of 2019, she scored her 19th number one on US charts with ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You‘ – 25 years after the song was first released.
It remained at the top of the charts for two weeks, giving Mariah the first number one of the 2020s and making her the first artist to score a Billboard Hot 100 number one in four different decades.
