Tan France wants to slide into the DMs of ‘twink’ Timothée Chalamet
Queer Eye star Tan France and fashion guru said he was trying to work up the courage to slide into the DMs of “twink” Timothée Chalamet.
France recently joined forces with Alexa Chung to present the new Netflix series Next in Fashion, which sees 18 designers competing for a $250,000 prize.
The pair appeared on BuzzFeed’s AM to DM to discuss the show, and when they were asked whether there were any celebrities they would like to give a makeover to, France said: “Yes, there is someone.”
When Chung accused him of being “mean”, France defended his answer by saying: “No, I’m not mean, it’s because I’m obsessed with this person and I just want to be close to him.
“He’s the best dressed man, without a doubt, it’s Timothée Chalamet.”
Chalamet was crowned the “straight prince of twinks” after starring in Call Me By Your Name.
France continued: “I just want to be in the same room. So I’d fake it and say ‘I really want to give you a makeover!’ but really I just want to play dress-up with him.”
Chung revealed that she “embarrassingly slid into his DMs”, to which France replied: “You did? I wanted to!”
She said she sent him a video of her and her friends singing his name, but never got a response.
France said he knows that Chalamet is aware of Queer Eye, but he hasn’t yet had the courage to slide into his DMs. He added: “I am going to… I’m going to do it today!”
The fashion expert has been with his husband, illustrator Rob France, for more than a decade.
Asked what his “line” to Chalamet would be, he said: “‘I love you. Would you consider being my second husband?’ Or ‘I’ll leave my first husband for you.'”
He added: “I’m not usually into twinks in the slightest. I’ve never dated somebody younger than me, but…”
