It’s Always Sunny star Rob McElhenney took the ‘gay rights’ meme to a whole new NSFW level
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney has officially joined the eternally growing list of celebrities who have shouted at the top of their lungs: “Gay rights!”
But the actor, who plays gay character Mac on the hit FX show, gave his own spin on the meme-turned-battle-cry.
In the clip, a fan asks McElhenney to say gay rights, a question he repeated for emphasis as if to say, “That’s all?”

He then looked into the mobile phone camera and swaggered: “Gay motherf**king rights!”
His wife Kaitlin Olson then sways into the camera’s view, providing a perky smile which, in our expert opinion, also says gay rights.
The actor, whose biceps also routinely shout gay rights, quickly went viral on Twitter, tallying 8,000 retweets and more than 45,000 likes.
Rob McElhenney crowned king of the allies by Twitter.

Rob McElhenney’s mother and two brothers are gay.
When he was eight years old, McElhenney’s parents divorced after his mother came out as a lesbian.
“I was partly raised by two women, and I have two brothers who are gay, so I have always been part of the gay community,” he explained to Deadline.
“It’s just always been a part of my life.”
