Father-of-three jailed for raping teenage boy he met on Grindr

A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to four-and-half years in prison after pleading guilty to raping a teenage boy.
Adnan Aslam confessed to attacking the 14-year-old in an East Lancashire car park after meeting him on Grindr.
While messaging on the app – which has an 18 age limit – Aslam promised his victim that there would be “cash for favours”.
As their conversation moved to Snapchat, Aslam sent the boy naked pictures of himself before arranging to meet that evening, November 9.
The married father-of-three later picked the teenager up at a bus station before driving to a business park, where he raped him.
Charles Brown, prosecuting, said that the victim asked Aslam to stop about 10 minutes into the attack, but he continued.

After the assault Aslam gave his victim £20 and a cigarette, and promised to pay him for another meeting in the future.
Brown told Burnley Crown Court that the victim returned home and immediately told his mother what had happened.
“He was extremely distressed during the course of the night, asking her to arrange that he should have a HIV test,” Brown said, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.
The following morning the boy, unable to tell his mother the full story face-to-face, sent her a Facebook message with explicit details.
In his victim statement, the boy said: “I feel I can’t go out alone anymore. I feel anxious quite a lot.”

The attack was reported to police who questioned Aslam, gleaning no response.
During a second interview on November 25, he admitted to using Grindr to talk about sex with the boy, who he knew was underage.
Aslam pleaded guilty to raping a child in court.
His lawyer Ahmed Nadim said that the rapist wanted his victim to know he should feel no embarrassment or shame.
He understands he has damaged a variety of interests and lives. He has a complete understanding of the damage that he has inflicted on his victim.”
Aslam, who has no prior convictions, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and was given a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.
He will remain on the sex offenders register for life, and is the subject of an indefinite restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
