Rachel Bloom’s Drag Race guest judge stint got very emotional for a really beautiful reason
Drag Race season 12 guest judge Rachel Bloom revealed the special reason why she got “really emotional” while filming the show.
The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator was one of a raft of guest judges announced for Drag Race season 12, along with Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Whoopi Goldberg, Jeff Goldblum, Robyn and Normani.
Sharing her pledge of “allegiance to the drag”, Bloom – who is about eight months pregnant – said: “I and my secret pregnancy tits were SO PUMPED TO DO THIS.”
She revealed that at the time of filming she was about two months into her pregnancy.
“And as I watched all of the queens I got really emotional thinking about how proud I’d be if I had a son who did drag.”

If you were in any doubt about Bloom’s seriousness, she confessed that she has been “playing episodes of Drag Race loudly” for her bump.
Bloom is due to give birth to her first child in April.
She announced the happy news at the Creative Arts Emmys in September 2019, where she won the award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
The musical comedy, which drew to a close last April, was applauded throughout its run for its depictions of both mental health and of LGBT+ identities.
The series was especially strong on bisexual representation, with three main characters identifying as bi or fluid.
Drag Race season 12 guest judge Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shuts down haters.
While Rachel Bloom seems to have received nothing but love following the Drag Race announcement, another guest judge, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has found herself the target of right-wing hate.
Critics said that the Democrat “might as well pledge it to the drag cause she sure doesn’t pledge it too [sic] the flag”, and suggested that she had proven herself to be a “typical communist”.
In response, Ocasio-Cortez channeled iconic Drag Race villain Phi Phi O’Hara, telling her haters “they can go back to Party City”.
