Elizabeth Warren suggests her vice president may be non-binary or gender non-conforming

Elizabeth Warren has suggested that her vice president could be non-binary or gender non-conforming if she becomes the next president of the United States.
Warren, who is one in a crowded pool of Democrats seeking the party’s nomination, made the suggestion in a tweet.
“I want to tell you exactly the kind of vice president I want: Someone who will be in this fight alongside me for your families. Someone who feels this fight passionately—and who brings his, her, or their own energy to get it done,” Warren wrote.
Elizabeth Warren has repeatedly spoken out in support of trans women of colour and non-binary people during her campaign.
Warren’s tweet suggests that trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people who use they/them pronouns could be in the running for the vice president slot if she gains her party’s nomination.
Her latest comments come just weeks after she said that at least half of her cabinet would be made up of women and non-binary people.
“I will build a Cabinet and senior leadership team that reflects the full diversity of America, including having at least 50 percent of Cabinet positions filled by women and non binary people,” Warren wrote in a Medium post.

“[I will] ensure representation of LGBTQ+ people across all levels of government, including in leadership roles,” she added.
She has also repeatedly used her platform during the campaign to draw attention to the disproportionate violence faced by trans people, particularly trans women of colour.
Warren is looking increasingly unlikely to gain the Democratic nomination.
During her closing remarks at the Democratic debate in Des Moines, Iowa last month, she said that no one had spoken about “how trans women, particularly trans women of colour, are at risk.”
Meanwhile, in December of last year, Warren revealed that – if she becomes the next president – she would read the names of all the trans people murdered every year in the White House rose garden, and she later promised to stop the US from imprisoning trans women in men’s prisons.
Warren’s chances of gaining the Democratic nomination for the presidential election are looking increasingly slim after her poor performance in the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
The Senator came in fourth place in the New Hampshire primary behind Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar.
