Piers Morgan sinks to new lows in feud with Jameela Jamil by sharing private messages from Caroline Flack

Piers Morgan published messages from Caroline Flack in an attack on the late TV star's friend Jameela Jamil

Piers Morgan has published private messages from deceased TV host Caroline Flack as he feuds with queer TV star Jameela Jamil.

Actress and body positivity campaigner Jameela Jamil has spoken about being driven to “to a point of near death” after being hounded for weeks by an online outrage mob, who have questioned her decision to come out as queer and her previous comments about her health.

The row sunk to a new low on Sunday as Piers Morgan, one of the loudest critics of The Good Place actress, hit back at her harassment claims by accusing her of targeting Love Island host Caroline Flack – who died by suicide earlier this month.

The Good Morning Britain host published snippets of private messages apparently written by Flack in October, in which she said: “I’m struggling with Jameela.. The hate she aims at me.”

Morgan claimed: “Jameela Jamil is having a lot to say about online harassment, so in the interests of balance, here is a message Caroline Flack sent me last October after the same Jameela Jamil led an online pile-on against her regarding a new TV show she was doing.”

Piers Morgan branded a ‘parasite’ for using ‘dead friend’s private messages for clicks’.

Jameela Jamil confirmed that she had a “small twitter spat” with Caroline Flack about her planned cosmetic surgery series The Surjury – but the activist stressed that “[Caroline] and I were fine” in the four months between the messages and Flack’s death.

She said: “Piers using a dead woman who I was friends with, as a weapon to try to create further harassment for me as I’ve JUST explained publicly that last week I felt suicidal… is why he is this industry’s most problematic. My criticising a *show* did not aim any hate at Caroline.”

The activist added: “Out of respect for Caroline, I will not allow this conversation to carry on in which she can’t respond or speak for herself.

“She would be disgusted her personal messages were shared and weaponised against a woman, by a bullying parasite she thought was her friend. I’m out.

“To sell your dead friend’s private messages for clicks is a low I’ve never imagined anyone capable of.”

Good Morning Britain host attacks critics ‘trying to get me fired’.

Piers Morgan has since hit out at commentators who have questioned why ITV has not acted over his online tirades.

He wrote: “I revealed that Caroline Flack told me in October she was ‘struggling’ with Jameela Jamil because of ‘the hate she aims at me’.

“Yet rather than condemn Ms Jamil’s online bullying, you seek to get me fired for disclosing the harmful effect it had. Shameful.”
