Lady Gaga joins Lizzo and Elton John for huge coronavirus concert raising money to help protect healthcare workers

Lady Gaga announced One World: Together at Home, a star-studded COVID-19 concert in celebration and support of health care professionals.
The Chromatica singer spoke at a World Health Organisation press conference to reveal details of the One World: Together at Home concert special.
“We are all so very grateful to all of the health-care professionals across the country and the world who are on the front lines during COVID-19,” she said.
The benefit will raise money through corporate contributions, which will go directly to the WHO’s Solidarity Response Fund to support and equip healthcare workers around the world.

She will appear at the event alongside a glittering line-up of stars including Elton John, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Maluma and Paul McCartney.
Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Joe Armstrong, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham and Eddie Vedder will also take part, as well as Eilish’s brother FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder.
Chat show personalities Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert will host, with special appearances from the cast of Sesame Street.
The concert will take place on April 18 fro 8pm ET and will be broadcast on ABC, NBC, ViacomCBS Networks and iHeartMedia, as well as on Bell Media in Canada.

It will also stream digitally on services including Alibaba, Amazon Prime Video, Apple, Facebook, Instagram, LiveXLive, Tencent, Tencent Music Entertainment Group, TIDAL, TuneIn, Twitch, Twitter, Yahoo, and YouTube.
In the UK, BBC One will air the special on April 19.

On March 29, Gaga spent her birthday on the phone to the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who subsequently revealed: “She is ready to support WHO in any way possible in the fight against COVID-19. Together!”
She had previously announced that the release of her sixth album, Chromatica, would be delayed as she joined in with efforts to combat coronavirus.
The singer said it had been an “incredibly tough decision” but that “it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on”.
She added: “Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions.
“It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for means get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.”
