Lady Gaga will be the special guest at the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 press conference
Lady Gaga, singer, actor and noted virologist, will be the special guest at the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 press conference on Monday (April 6).
The “Stupid Love” singer recently announced that she was delaying the release of her sixth album Chromatica, apparently so that she can focus her efforts on ending the coronavirus pandemic.
On March 29, Gaga spent her birthday on the phone to the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who subsequently revealed: “She is ready to support WHO in any way possible in the fight against COVID-19. Together!”
A week later, the WHO revealed that it would have a special guest at its COVID-19 conference.
In true Gaga style, it was an announcement of an announcement.
“Lady Gaga will be joining us to announce the One World: #TogetherAtHome virtual global special on 18 April 2020,” the WHO tweeted.

Lady Gaga delays Chromatica to join coronavirus efforts.
Unfortunately, due to Gaga’s recent scientific endeavours, she has been forced to postpone the release of her eagerly-anticipated Chromatica project.
Gaga released the album’s cover art on April 5, a day after it leaked online.
The artwork finds Dr Germanotta lying on a metal grate, presumably taking a brief nap from developing functional antibody tests and conducting experimental drug trials.
In lieu of proper protective equipment, she wears heavily embellished armour and a pair of platform boots with a tusk and knife for its heels, a possible clue as to what she will announce in the WHO press conference.

Earlier, Gaga announced the delay in a heartfelt Instagram post.
The singer said it had been an “incredibly tough decision” but that “it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on”.
She added: “Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions.
“It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for means get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.”
Lady Gaga reminded her disappointed fans: “We are the kindness punks. So I ask you to practice that kindness in these trying times.
“I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time.
“And until that time comes, LET’S ALL STAY HOME!”
