Demi Lovato thinks ‘it could be so much fun’ to settle down and have children with a woman
Demi Lovato has said she could see herself settling down and having children with a woman in the future, but she remains “open to anything”.
Appearing on the May 2020 cover Harper’s Bazaar, Lovato — who identifies as bisexual and is currently single — discussed dating and how she imagines her future.
Having been single for the past three years, she revealed that she has stopped using the exclusive celebrity dating app Raya and is enjoying being single.
She said: “I’ve never felt more loved. Which is really cool because I’m single as all hell right now.”
But, she added, it doesn’t stop her imagining what the future could look like.
Lovato said: “When I imagine my life in the future, I don’t say ‘I’m looking for a man who I want to have two or three kids with’.
I think it could be so much fun to share children with a woman
So I don’t know what my future will look like, and I’m open to anything.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, a longtime LGBT+ advocate, revealed in 2017 that she was open to dating women, saying: “That’s how I’ve always felt.”
Demi Lovato said her new album will “set the record straight”.
Demi Lovato has in recent years suffered with substance abuse and eating disorder.
She has gradually returned to the public eye with performances at the Super Bowl and the Grammys, and is planning to release a new album later this year trailed by the single “I Love Me”.
The singer, 27, used the Harper’s Bazaar interview to say how grateful she is for the patience of her fans.
“I will say that I’ve really appreciated the patience the public has given me over the past year and a half to figure my s**t out,” she said.
“Because I think the mistake I made when I was 18, when I went into treatment, was that I went back to work six months later.
“But at the same time I’ve also sat back on the sidelines for two years. I’ve kept my mouth shut, while the tabloids have run wild.
“And my album is finally the place where I get to set the record straight on everything.”
