Thousands of people are dying from coronavirus every day, but this Christian fundamentalist is raging over two gay cartoon ducks

One Million Moms is angry after DuckTales revealed that Violet has two gay dads

A Christian fundamentalist is absolutely raging about two gay cartoon ducks in the Disney reboot of DuckTales, while thousands of people are dying every day from coronavirus.

This month, DuckTales revealed that a major character has two gay dads. The third season premiere of the revived DisneyXD show dropped the quiet reveal about the family of Violet, a classmate of Huey, Dewey and Lewey played by Libe Barer.

While many were ecstatic about the gay duck dads, fundamentalist Christian, author and religious theme park owner Ken Ham was not.

Ham is CEO and founder of Answers in Genesis which owns the science-ignoring Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, a Noah’s Ark–themed amusement park with a “life-size” ark.

His organisation describes “homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, transgenderism, transvestitism and non-binarism” as “twisted and corrupt”.

Ham wrote on Facebook: “Disney continues to relentlessly and unashamedly push the LGBT+ agenda onto children. This time it’s through its reboot of the DuckTales show on the Disney+ streaming service with a ‘gay dad’ couple.

“Other children’s programming by Disney also pushes the gay agenda, and DuckTales co-executive producer and story editor Frank Angones seemed to express regret that gay representation on the show isn’t centre stage because the show is rooted in 1980s characters involved in ‘heteronormative romances’.”

He quoted DuckTales executive producer Frank Angones, who recently said: “I’m well aware that the ‘queer representation through parents and background characters’ trope is an issue, and we’ve sort of stumbled backwards into a lot of heteronormative romances in this show… We really have not done enough relevant LGBTQ+ rep.

“We do have some themes and ideas coming up that address relevant LGBT+ narratives. But there’s always opportunity for a lot more; I don’t want a cop out and a cookie for saying ‘look at this one thing we did!'”

Angones added: “I’m dedicated to being better and finding new opportunities for three dimensional representation, on this show and the next and the next.”

This quote appeared to ignite Ham’s rage even more.

He continued: “So there you have it. Disney will be featuring more and more of the gay agenda on Disney+ to indoctrinate your kids in this anti-biblical, sinful lifestyle that destroys the family.

“Sadly, Disney as a whole has been pushing the gay agenda.”

Unfortunately, Disney has not historically been as LGBT-positive as Ham thinks.

It emerged in February that the “family-focused” streaming service Disney+ had quietly ditched the Love, Simon TV series for being too “adult”.

The new TV show is called Love, Victor and is a spinoff of the movie, which was based on a book.

Disney+ dropped the TV show from its streaming service because it tackles themes of “sexual exploration”, and executives feared that families would not watch shows with such themes around “young kids”.
