One Million Moms prove they are comprised of exactly zero mothers as they spend pandemic raging over gay cartoon ducks
One Million Moms have decided that the middle of a global pandemic is the right time to try and launch a boycott of Disney because of two minor gay characters in a DuckTales cartoon.
With schools shut down due to the pandemic, the online streaming service Disney Plus has become an invaluable tool for parents everywhere trying to keep their kids occupied.
But it’s apparently not so vital for One Million Moms, a front for the anti-LGBT+ fundamentalist lobbying group American Family Association, which despite its name has just 4,787 mostly-male Twitter followers.
In fact, the group apparently decided that now seems like a great time to declare a boycott of Disney after getting upset over gay cartoon ducks.
One Million Moms are very upset about DuckTales’ gay ducks.
In a release, One Million Moms encourages its members to vow to stay away from all Disney content for pushing an “LGBT+ agenda” in DuckTales – after an episode of the revived DisneyXD show revealed that Violet, a friend of main characters Huey, Dewey and Lewey, has two loving same-sex parents.
A letter to Disney CEO Bob Chapek produced by One Million Moms says: “I do not agree with the LGBT+ agenda you are forcing on families and children in the reboot series DuckTales.
“My family will not watch DuckTales nor support your company as long as the network veers away from family-friendly entertainment. I will encourage my friends to do the same.”
Accusing DuckTales of “indoctrinating children by exposing them to homosexual relationships through a facade of normalcy”, the group added: “If anyone still has any doubt on where Disney stands on this controversial issue, hopefully this makes it clear that there is an LGBT+ agenda they are forcing on young audiences.”
New Disney CEO does not have time for anti-LGBT+ bigots.
We’re pretty certain CEO Bob Chapek will politely tell the group exactly where to go, just as he did last month when he was confronted by an anti-LGBT+ activist at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting.
Challenging Chapek at the meeting, anti-LGBT+ activist Caroline Farrow hit out at the CEO for “promoting LGBT+ ideology in many of your products for children” – linking the issue to a recent tumble in the company’s share price.
Chapek flatly rejected Farrow’s concerns, making clear: “At Disney we strongly believe we should reflect in our creative content the diversity that we find in our fanbase and our audience.
“I believe that will continue with an increased commitment as we move forward. We want to represent our audience. We believe we want to tell stories that our audience wants to hear that reflects their lives.
“In terms of the stock price, there’s a lot of reasons why the stock price might be down 20 per cent that has nothing to do with the issue you raised – it might have more to do with coronavirus and the worldwide pandemic that we’re facing.”
Of course, it’s also far from the first time One Million Moms has threatened a Disney boycott, also calling for action over LGBT+ content in The Eternals, Onward and Toy Story 4 in the past year alone.
