Phillip Schofield moves out of marital home two months after shockingly coming out as gay
This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has reportedly moved out of the home he shared with his wife two months after he publicly came out as gay.
The television presenter shared a sprawling Oxfordshire mansion with his wife Stephanie Lowe, but reports indicate that he has now moved into a London apartment.
“There has been talk for weeks that Phillip isn’t living with Steph any more, that he had moved out for good and had a new home,” an anonymous source told The Mail on Sunday.
“He has a place in central London,” the source added.
An unnamed source said Phillip Schofield has moved into a new apartment, claiming it is ‘the beginning of a new life for him’.
“It’s not as big but it’s the beginning of a new life for him. It very much also seems as though their marriage could well be over.”
The reports, while unconfirmed, are not entirely unexpected. Schofield came out publicly as gay on February 7 in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing,” Schofield wrote.

“And so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.
“With the strength and support of my wife and daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.
“This is something that has caused heart-breaking conversations at home. I have been married to Steph for nearly 27 years, and we have two beautiful grown-up daughters, Molly and Ruby.
“My family have held me so close; they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion.
The This Morning presenter’s mother had the best reaction when he came out as gay.
“My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so very much for the better.”
Speaking on This Morning that day, Schofield revealed that, when he told his mother he was gay, she simply replied: “I don’t care.”
He also spoke about the pain his coming out would cause his wife, and said it “wasn’t easy” telling his daughters.
“I sat them down and I told them and they jumped up and gave me a hug. A big hug, a long hug, and then they hugged Steph.
“And then they said, ‘It’s OK, it’s OK, this is fine, we’ll be OK, we’ll always be a family.'”
