Cara Delevingne has the most bizarre cameo on Fiona Apple’s new album Fetch the Bolt Cutters
As millions of Americans hunker down at home for yet another week of social separation, a blessing was delivered; Fiona Apple’s fifth studio album, Fetch the Bolt Cutters.
Between this, Tiger King and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, maybe life isn’t that bad? No, it’s pretty bad, let’s be honest.
Anyway, Apple’s dreamy vocals have kept the world dancing in their bedrooms, but it turns out that, according to a New Yorker profile, background vocals of the title track include Cara Delevingne.
We are truly blessed to live in the same timelines as these two. Truly.
Cara Delevingne feels ‘so lucky’ to be featured on friend Fiona Apple’s album Fetch the Bolt Cutters.
In the profile, Apple, 42, describes how the model and actor are pals with one another and she “visisted Apple’s home to record harmonies on the song ‘Fetch the Bolt Cutters’.
“She’s the one making that kooky ‘meow’.”
The more you know! Delevingne, 27, described how she feels “so lucky” to be credited on the album, where her dogs, Leo and Alfie, even made an appearance.
She shared a photograph of the pair in Apple’s home studio on Instagram Tuesday, and she captioned it: “So proud of you Fiona!”
“I feel so lucky to have been a part of it (as well as my dogs!) and to make a small cameo on the title track.”
How did Apple and Delevingne meet?
W Magazine did a deep dive into their friendship, which is as wholesome and pure as you might suspect.
The publication described how the pair met in October 2017, when Apple performed with St Vincent – then Delvingne’s partner – at the Trans-Pecos Festival in Marfa, Texas.
Delevingne even contributed to Clark’s own album, on the song “Pills”, making it likely she met Apple during that time.
