Drag Race confirms ‘virtual’ finale and reunion episodes with a ‘revolutionary’ lip sync for the crown

Drag Race season 12 will culminate in a “virtual slumber party” reunion and a “revolutionary” at-home lip sync for the crown.
RuPaul and VH1 have ended weeks of speculation about how season 12 will proceed, confirming that the usual reunion and finale will be replaced with two socially-distanced specials.
After the final maxi challenge this Friday (May 15), the queens will come together for a “virtual slumber party” season 12 reunion on May 22.
As well as spilling the tea on all the biggest dramas (well – probably not the biggest drama), the queens will share how they’ve been living under lockdown.

The Drag Race season 12 finale will follow a week later on May 29, ending with a “revolutionary” virtual lip sync for the crown.
Producers have utilised “innovative technology that highlights the creativity of the queens” – hopefully, it’s a bit more advanced than RuPaul’s Green Screen Christmas.
Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly will crown America’s Next Drag Superstar, with Nina West, last year’s Miss Congeniality, on hand to announce her successor.
There will also be celebrity guests appearing throughout the night.
Drag Race season 12 will name its finalists during Friday’s Las Vegas themed episode.
Gigi Goode and Jaida Essence Hall are the current frontrunners for the Drag Race season 12 crown, with three wins each.
Crystal Methyd won her first maxi challenge last week, leaving Jackie Cox as the only queen without a win to her name.
Sherry Pie has two wins, but has been disqualified from the competition after she allegedly cat fished a number of men.
She is not expected to appear in either the season 12 reunion or finale.
The week after the Drag Race finale, the werk room will be spruced up for the arrival of the All Stars 5 cast.
The spin-off series begins on June 5, three days after Canada’s Drag Race starts further north.
