Calum Scott serenades care worker mum and her vulnerable daughter whose emotional reunion will have you in tears
Gay former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Calum Scott sang to a carer who was reunited with her daughter via video link after being separated for seven weeks.
Carer Lisa Cave appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, May 26, to take part in a video call with her seven-year-old daughter Ruby, who has been isolated with her father.
Cave, a frontline worker, has been isolating away from her severely asthmatic daughter to protect her during the coronavirus pandemic.
They have seen each other only once in seven weeks, when Cave suited up in full PPE to give her daughter a hug.

The video of the Ruby running into her mum’s arms while their favourite song, “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott, played in the background went viral.
Now, in an emotional video reunion on Good Morning Britain, Scott surprised the mother and daughter to sing the song to them live.

The moment brought presenter Ben Shephard to tears, and Scott said it “means so much” that the mother and daughter love his song so much.
He said: “The lyric is perfect for that hug, we all felt that hug.
“I can relate, I’m isolating totally on my own. What I would give to have a cuddle with my mum.
“The bond that you two have is incredible, and to share in that moment with you, with your favourite song, is a privilege.
“Lisa, I speak on behalf of the country, thank you so much for all the work you’re doing, you’re doing an incredible job.”
Cave recently told North Norfolk News: “Ruby is my hero, she is what keeps my heart beating and it’s hard not being able to see her.
“If you’re able to be with your family please stay home so I can see my child again.”
Calum Scott was a Britain’s Got Talent finalist in 2015.
Calum Scott made it to the final of Britain’s Got Talent’s ninth season in 2015.
The openly gay singer performed a cover of queer anthem “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn for his audition, prompting Simon Cowell to press the golden buzzer and send him straight to the semi-finals.
Cowell said at the time: “I’ve never ever in all the years I’ve done this show heard a guy with the talent you’ve got. Seriously.
“And the version was sensational, and that shows to me that you’re more than a singer, you’re an artist and that’s why you got that.”
