Paris Saint-Germain footballer Neymar slammed for using homophobic slurs in bloody confrontation with mum’s bisexual boyfriend
Paris Saint-Germain footballer Neymar has come under fire after he allegedly called his mother’s bisexual boyfriend a homophobic slur.
The Brazilian footballer reportedly used the slur after police questioned his mother Nadine Goncalves and her boyfriend Tiago Ramos following a domestic incident.
Local reports indicate that Ramos fell down the stairs and smashed into glass and required 12 stitches, the Daily Mail reports.
However, audio later leaked through gaming platform Twitch of an alleged conversation between the two men in which the footballer can allegedly be heard using an offensive anti-gay slur.
A Brazilian LGBT+ organisation has filed a lawsuit after Neymar allegedly used a homophobic slur.
In the same conversation, Neymar reportedly implied that he did not believe that Ramos’s injuries were an accident.
The audio was shared by journalist Leo Dias, who writes for Metropoles, and reportedly features Neymar using the Portuguese slur “viadinho”.
By reporting that the mother’s boyfriend is bisexual, Neymar and his friends hinted at the possibility of assaulting a gay man, including the insertion of a broom into the anus of the mother’s boyfriend.
Furthermore, local reports suggest that Neymar agreed with a friend who implied that someone should anally penetrate Ramos with a broomstick.
Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Brazil’s LGBT Association is taking legal action against Neymar over his alleged use of the homophobic slur and threats of violence.
He is one of the world’s most famous footballers.
In a note sent to the public ministry, the LGBT Association said: “By reporting that the mother’s boyfriend is bisexual, he (Neymar) and his friends hinted at the possibility of assaulting a gay man, including the insertion of a broom into the anus of the mother’s boyfriend.”
The lawsuit reportedly requests that Neymar and his friends be detained by police to protect Tiago and to stop them from issuing threats to potential witnesses in the case.
Neymar is widely considered to be one of the best footballers in the world. In 2017, he transferred to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a move worth €222 million, making him the most expensive player in the world.
