Barbra Streisand gifts George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter Disney stock in touching show of support
George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter is officially a Disney shareholder, thanks to legendary gay icon Barbra Streisand.
Gianna Floyd took to her newly-created Instagram account to thank Streisand for a gift package that included her new stock portfolio.
The star also sent Gianna two of her own albums including My Name is Barbra from 1965 and Color Me Barbra from 1966.
“Thank you Barbra Streisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you,” she wrote.
It’s not clear how how many shares Streisand bought for Gianna, but shares in Disney are currently valued at around $115 (£92). Before the coronavirus pandemic, they traded as high as $150 (£120).

Streisand is among many stars pledging their support for Gianna, whose father died in police custody last month after a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes.
Kanye West has launched a college fund to cover the cost of her eventual tuition and has also supported the grieving families of Ahmaud Arbrery and Breonna Taylor, donating a total of $2 million so far.
Texas Southern University also offered her a full scholarship if she chooses to attend the school in the future, and a Go FundMe page started for Gianna Floyd has also exceeded its goal of $2 million.
“Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support,” Gianna and her mother Roxie Washington wrote on the page.
Streisand, 78, has not publicly commented on her donation, but has been avidly tweeting in support of Black Lives Matter for the past two weeks.
