Young girls throw adorable same-sex wedding for their Barbie dolls, officiated by Geri Halliwell, and it’s the definition of parenting done right
Two young girls hosted their own Barbie doll same-sex wedding with Geri Halliwell as the celebrant, and it might just be one of the most adorable things you’ll ever see.
Danielle Shoffman shared the incredible photos of her daughters’ Barbie doll same-sex wedding in a Facebook group for families to share activities in lockdown.
“We had some sad news the other day so to cheer us up my two daughters decided to have some fun making a same-sex Barbie wedding, which I helped photograph!” Shoffman wrote.
The proud mum said she is privileged to be raising her daughters in “a very diverse family” with several same-sex couples.
“I just love seeing how their understanding of the world is reflected in their play and that they know that at the end of the day love is love,” Shoffman added.
The family created their own Barbie wedding day photoshoot, and it’s glorious from start to finish.
The incredible photoshoot perfectly recreates a real-life wedding day and is replete with flowers and artfully taken shots of their dresses.
The family captured photos of the Barbie dolls having their make-up done ahead of their big day – and Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell even got in on the action as the celebrant for the dolls’ wedding ceremony.
The photoshoot ends in the best possible way – with the Barbie dolls driving off into the sunset with a “just married” sign on the back of their car.
I just love seeing how their understanding of the world is reflected in their play and that they know that at the end of the day love is love.
Shoffman’s post has been liked more than 14,000 times on Facebook – and the girls have been inundated with praise in the comments.
“I love that Geri Halliwell married them,” a commenter called Keira wrote.
Meanwhile, Bev praised the girls for doing something positive when there is “so much negativity around” and said they should be proud of themselves.
The girls’ parents have been praised for raising them with pro-LGBT+ values.

“Thank you for the chuckles and for reminding us all that there’s families like this out there ensuring these values are known from a young age.
“This is how we can see real change in the world,” the commenter added.
Another group member called Michelle said: “Wouldn’t the world be a nicer place if all children were raised with this level of understanding. Great job!”
A Facebook user called Heidi added: “These pictures are better than my wedding photos! This is just beautiful!”
