Gay men’s choir sends powerful message of love to LGBT+ people everywhere with stunning cover of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way
The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has released a stunning cover version of “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga to show LGBT+ people everywhere that they are loved.
Members of the choir individually recorded their own parts of the song from their own homes using their phones, and they were edited together to send out a message of love during the coronavirus pandemic.
“This is our message in song to young people, who are just starting out on their journey, as well as older people who’ve been out for decades, that we love them just the way they are,” the group’s music director Reuben M Reynolds III said.

“We hope that you’ll watch, listen, and dance along in your living room, just like the guys did when they were recording this for you!”
Opening up the video, Reynolds says: “We’d like to have a little Gaga for you today to say we love you just the way you are. Enjoy, be safe, be happy.”

The group’s members then launch into their powerful rendition of Lady Gaga’s anthem of LGBT+ acceptance and equality.
“Born This Way” is the fourth song recorded by the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus since the coronavirus pandemic escalated, sending much of the world into lockdown.
The song was slated to be the encore at their show before the pandemic hit.
The Lady Gaga song was originally supposed to be the encore at their show, which was scheduled for March, but that concert was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19.
“The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus has been sharing stories through song about our community to audiences around the world for over 38 years now,” said Boston Gay Men’s Chorus executive director Craig Coogan.
The latest performance comes just two months after the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus released a rousing mash-up of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Sara Bareilles’ “Brave” as a thank you to frontline workers.
