Bigoted white woman who called Black Lives Matter protester ‘a gay homosexual piece of crap’ fired from her job
A Tennessee woman who screeched “you’re a poor little Black girl with a messed-up mind” to a 16-year-old and hurled homophobic abuse at Black Lives Matter demonstrators on Saturday (July 4) has lost her job.
Footage of Sonya Holt seething as she screamed “white lives matter, white lives are better” went viral across the weekend. She even yelled at one protester: “You’re a gay homosexual piece of crap who’s going to burn in hell,” WCYB-TV reported.
Keith Family Vision Clinic in Johnson City confirmed Monday morning (July 6) that she is no longer an employee, making Holt the latest bigot to face the consequences of racist actions.

‘Karen’ homophobe loses job after spewing hate to Black Lives Matter protesters.
As the Black Lives Matter protests continue to throng streets up and down the US, there have been vocal counter-protesters haranguing those who just want to see an end to police killing Black people.
In videos, Holt is seen hovering around the barriers of a rally organised by New Panthers Initiative in Covered Bridge Park, loudly jeering at demonstrators.
One, uploaded to Facebook, showed her spewing homophobia as she asked one protester, Seth Loven, to “cross the line, f*g boy”.
The person filming heckled back at Holt and called her “Karen” as she walked away, leading other counter-protesters to spew hate at him instead.
Activist Sierra Gilmer, who recorded one of the viral videos, told WJHL of the volatility of the counter-protesters’ remarks.
“It was crazy,” the 16-year-old said.”We kind of knew what to expect going into it. We knew there was going to be a counter-protest there.
“We knew that things might get a little bit crazy. However, I wasn’t expecting that.
“I think it’s just important for people to realise that racism is happening everywhere and it is in your community, no matter how much you think it might not be.
“I had a lot of people reach out to me saying that they didn’t realise that this was a problem in Elizabethton but now their eyes are open.
“So, I think people just need to stay aware and address it when they see it.”
Holt apologised to Gilmer after she was sacked, saying: “I did not know that she was a minor. ”
She also denied being racist and tried to excuse her use of homophobic slurs by claiming that Loven called her a “Ku Klux Karen”. He has strenuously denied this, and there is no footage of him saying this on any footage.
