It has been revealed that Britney Spears’ father earned more than $100,000 last year alone from her conservatorship as the Free Britney movement reaches a fever pitch.
Fans have been campaigning for years to have Britney freed from her 12-year long conservatorship, which was put in place by the courts following her public mental health crises in 2007 and 2008.
A conservatorship is granted by the courts to protect vulnerable people, such as the elderly or the extremely ill. Since 2008, much of the singer’s affairs have been controlled by her father Jamie Spears under the terms of the arrangement.
New legal documents seen by E! News show that the complicated legal arrangement cost Britney more than $1 million last year – with her father pocketing more than $100,000 himself.
The star paid $1,202,504.30 to a team of advisors and attorneys last year, with Jamie Spears earning $128,000 for his role as conservator.
The documents also revealed that Britney receives an undisclosed weekly allowance that she can spend as she sees fit.
According to the legal documents, Britney shops at Anthropologie, Walmart, Amazon and Target and also spent $91,242.01 travelling to locations such as Turks, Caicos and Miami.
She also spent almost $1 million last year on residential expenses.

The legal documents were published just a week after the “Toxic” singer’s father hit out at the Free Britney movement, labelling it a “joke”.
Speaking to The Post, Jamie Spears branded Free Britney supporters “conspiracy theorists” and insisted that he is not manipulating his daughter.
“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” he said.
“It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”
In response to accusations that he’s hoarded Spears’ funds for himself, he said: “I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?
“I love my daughter,” Jamie added.
“I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”
