Dolly Parton is gifting a 12-track Christmas album to the gays this festive season, made up of original songs as well as her own spin on several classics.
A Holly Dolly Christmas will be released on 2 October and will include duets with Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, Willie Nelson, her brother Randy Parton and Michael Bublé.
The new festive record will be Parton’s first Christmas album in 30 years and will include five self-penned tracks by the legendary singer-songwriter, Rolling Stone reports.
A Holly Dolly Christmas will also include Parton’s own versions of classics such as “Holly Jolly Christmas”, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”.
New Dolly Parton album will be a Christmas extravaganza with star-studded duets.
The album’s original songs include “Christmas Is”, on which Parton will be joined by Miley Cyrus, as well as “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas” with Michael Bublé, which will also be the album’s first single.
“I figured since everybody probably wouldn’t get to celebrate Christmas as usual this year, I wanted to be creative instead of sitting around at the house this summer,” Parton said in a statement.
“So I put on my mask, gloves and practiced social distancing, as well as all of the wonderful musicians and singers, and we proceeded to put together what I think is some of the best work that I’ve ever done.”
The queen of country is also gearing up to release a Christmas film on Netflix starring Christine Baranski.
And that’s not Parton’s only Christmas gift to the gays – she is also set to star in Netflix’s festive film Christmas on the Square, set for release later this year, alongside Christine Baranski.
The film will feature songs from her upcoming Christmas album, meaning our lives will be happily full of Parton this festive season.
Details of her new Christmas album were confirmed in a new interview with Billboard this week.
In the same interview, Parton came out swinging in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The legendary country singer addressed anti-racism protests, and said: “I understand people having to make themselves known and felt and seen.
“And of course Black Lives Matter. Do we think our little white a*ses are the only ones that matter? No!”
Parton also discussed the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on her business.
“We certainly are not going to have a great year this year,” adding that “all of the things that I’m involved in are on hold, even my production companies and the movies — everything [took] a big hit.”
