Bella Thorne accused of ‘ruining OnlyFans for sex workers’ after allegedly ‘scamming people for nudes’
Bella Thorne is being accused of “ruining OnlyFans for sex workers” after she allegedly “scammed” people by promising a nude photo that never materialised.
OnlyFans – a social media platform where fans pay for content – has been used by sex workers across the world for some time as a vital income stream, particularly during the pandemic.
The pansexual Disney actor signed up to the platform last week, and broke records by raking in $1 million in her first 24 hours.
However, Thorne is now being accused of charging fans $200 to view a supposed “nude” photo that wasn’t actually fully nude.
The claims were made in a viral tweet posted Friday (August 28), which alleged that OnlyFans had changed its rules after countless people requested refunds from Thorne.
“OnlyFans won’t allow us to charge over $50 for [pay per view] OR get tipped over $100,” the post read.
“And this morning we were all told that instead of waiting seven days for our payouts, we have to wait 30. The theory is that [OnlyFans] can’t afford to pay her [Thorne] her cut so now our funds are being tied up.
“It’s bulls**t. She singlehandedly f**ked so many sex workers.”
In screenshots posted to Twitter, Thorne appears to have promised “no clothes naked” photos for the $200 fee – but the photos were reportedly not as promised.
Bella Thorne criticised over OnlyFans.
The actor has faced a storm of criticism on Twitter from sex workers and others, who have accused her of ruining the platform.
“Bella Thorne f**ked over so many sex workers, I am so sick of celebrities,” wrote one Twitter user. “The entire tipping system just changed and got a huge price cap because she scammed thousands of people, absolutely ridiculous.”
Others were quick to criticise her for the move.
Girl imagine being known as the asshole who ruined onlyfans for sex workers because you don't have a single movie iconic enough to be a different identifier. Bella Thorne needs to pick a struggle expeditiously pic.twitter.com/sUmaqrhJdq

It took 48 hours for Bella Thorne to ruin things for us OF creators/SWs because she felt like playing a pretend SWer. She scammed her subs and will never face the consequences of doing so (while the rest of us deal with it) among the general stigma of being in this field. pic.twitter.com/68MxUyQwKH— Neptuneexplainsitall (@urwaifuneptune) August 28, 2020
So cute how Bella Thorne made her Onlyfans on a whim without doing an once of research on how it would impact the community and she immediately f*cked it up for us 🥰 LOVE that!

Thorne revealed that she was signing up for an OnlyFans account in an interview with PAPER on August 19.
“OnlyFans is the first platform where I can fully control my image; without censorship, without judgement, and without being bullied online for being me,” she said.
She later confirmed on Instagram that she will be working with friend and director Sean Baker to create a documentary “about the politics behind female body shaming and sex”.
“It’s a feature we are researching as I’m living it currently,” she told the LA Times.
“What are the ins and outs? What does a platform like this do to its users? What’s the connective material between your life and your life inside the world of OnlyFans?”
PinkNews has contacted a representative for Bella Thorne and OnlyFans for comment.
