Carole Baskin tearfully reflects on how Tiger King ‘affected’ her life after ex-husband’s family air missing person ad
Carole Baskin will reflect on how the hit Netflix docuseries Tiger King has “affected” her life in tonight’s episode of Dancing with the Stars.
A sneak preview of Tuesday’s (22 September) episode shows Carole Baskin breaking down in tears speaking about the impact the show has had on her, saying: “I keep it inside. That is the absolute worst of this.”
Tiger King rumours already came back to haunt Baskin during her Dancing with the Stars debut, in which she performed the Paso to the soundtrack of “Eye of the Tiger” in front of a psychedelic tiger.
Baskin’s millionaire late husband Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997 and was declared legally dead in 2002.
But Tiger King viewers came up with elaborate theories about her missing and presumed to be dead husband, speculating whether or not she killed him, as gay redneck tiger breeder Joe Exotic alleged.
Exotic, now in prison for plotting to kill Baskin, has long claimed his nemesis murdered her late husband and fed him to their tigers.
Dancing with the Stars viewers were distracted from her first performance on 14 September, complete with growling and claw hands, by an advert which aired during the show featuring the family of her former husband.
Appealing for information and offering a $100,000 reward in the Dancing with the Stars ad break, the family’s attorney said in the advert: “Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997.
“His family deserves answers. They deserve justice. Do you know who did this, or if Carole Baskin was involved?”
No evidence of Lewis being killed has ever surfaced, and Baskin vehemently denies having any involvement, but investigators believe it is unlikely that he disappeared on his own.
Hillsborough county sheriff Chad Chronister said he believes Lewis was murdered, and told People: “Now how and who’s responsible for it? That’s the unknown part right now.
“I wish I had more answers. I only hope, with the popularity of this Netflix series, that I’ll get those answers.”
