Top Trump aide and Donald Jr’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle accused of sexually harassing young female assistant
Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr’s girlfriend and a Trump 2020 campaign official, reportedly left her job at Fox News after she was accused of sexually harassing a young female assistant.
A former Fox News host and Donald Trump’s campaign finance chair, Guilfoyle has been travelling around the US to rally support for the president as part of the “Four More Tour”.
But details have come to light on the scandal that reportedly forced her out of journalism and into a political career, despite Guilfoyle’s insistence that the move was completely voluntary.
Guilfoyle left Fox News in July, 2018, amid suggestions of impropriety at work. It was reported at the time that she had shown photos of genitalia to colleagues and engaged in “emotionally abusive” behaviour, but few concrete details were revealed. She has denied any inappropriate conduct.
A new report from The New Yorker claims that in November 2018, Guilfoyle’s young, female assistant sent a 42-page draft complaint to Fox News executives, detailing a long history of sexual harassment by her boss.
“A dozen well-informed sources familiar with her complaints” have now revealed for the first time exactly what Guilfoyle was accused of.
They told the publication that the assistant alleged Guilfoyle had subjected her to “degrading, abusive, and sexually inappropriate behaviour”.
The complaint claimed that she was often asked to work at Guilfoyle’s home, where the then-Fox host got naked and asked her to critique her body, and on one occasion asked her to massage her thighs.
The assistant reportedly went on to allege Guilfoyle would share explicit details about her sex life, including showing her photos of the genitalia of men she had slept with, according to the report.
She also accused her boss of demanding she give sexual favours to another Fox News employee, and insisted that they share a bedroom while on business trips, according to the outlet.
The assistant also reportedly alleged that Guilfoyle had offered her hush money, as well as a private jet trip and a percentage of her future public speaking fees.
The complaint was never filed in court, and Guilfoyle has publicly denied any wrongdoing, but “well-informed” sources told the publication that to avoid going to trial, Fox News paid the assistant “upward of four million dollars”.
Donald Trump Jr’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle insisted she has never done anything wrong.
The New Yorker reports that it has been able to “independently verify” several of the assistant’s complaints.
In a statement to the publication Kimberly Guilfoyle said: “In my 30-year career working for the SF District Attorney’s Office, the LA District Attorney’s Office, in media and in politics, I have never engaged in any workplace misconduct of any kind.
“During my career, I have served as a mentor to countless women, with many of whom I remain exceptionally close to this day.”
But a former Fox News employee told the publication that Guilfoyle’s behaviour at work was “worse than gross”. They added: “It put other women at Fox in such a terrible position. It created an environment that was detrimental to young women.”
