Laurence Fox sued – again – for ‘homophobic defamation’ after calling Drag Race UK star Crystal a ‘paedophile’

Disgraced actor Laurence Fox is being sued, again, for “homophobic defamation” by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Crystal, who he accused of being a “paedophile”.
Former actor and aspiring politician Laurence Fox took to Twitter Sunday (4 October) to fire off a furious series of tweets reacting to Sainsbury’s celebrating Black History Month.
The supermarket announced that it was “proud” to celebrate the event, and that customers who were offended by an “inclusive retailer” were “welcome to shop elsewhere”.
Fox took up the supermarket’s offer, responding: “I won’t be shopping in your supermarket ever again while you promote racial segregation and discrimination. I sincerely hope others join me.”
Comments flooded in accusing the actor of “racism”, and Crystal, who starred on the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK responded: “Imagine being this proud of being a racist! So cringe. Total snowflake behaviour.”
Replying to her, Fox bizarrely tweeted: “Says the paedophile.”
Fox also accused Coronation Street star Nicola Thorp and Simon Blake, the gay CEO of Mental Health First Aid England and Stonewall UK deputy chair, of being paedophiles.
The actor later deleted the tweets, but Blake soon announced that he would be filing a defamation lawsuit against Fox.
Now, Crystal has announced she is doing the same, and will be represented by the same lawyer.

In a statement posted to Twitter Tuesday (October 6), Crystal said: “On Sunday, I criticised Laurence Fox for his views regarding Sainsbury’s celebrating Black History Month and their commitment to making positive steps towards racial equity. ”
Crystal said that she was “very wary of corporate virtue signalling” but added: “I suggest anyone that truly cares about racial inequality should welcome steps a corporation takes to attempt to address it… rather than calling for a boycott.”
She continued: “In response to my criticism on Sunday, Mr Fox seriously defamed me, and I have instructed Mark Lewis of Patron Law to sue on my behalf.
“I will not stand for racism when I see it, and I will not stand for homophobic defamation when it is directed at me.
“An accusation of paedophilia is one of the oldest homophobic tropes, and it was very shocking to have that levelled at me, not just by Mr fox, but also his many followers who believed him.
“I may have had to endure homophobic bullying as a child, but I will not tolerate it as an adult. Thank you so much to everyone who has voiced their support.”
