Donald Trump threatens to ‘kiss the guys’ after dancing to the Village People during unusual return to campaign trail

Donald Trump was on bizarre form in Florida on Monday (October 12) as he attended his first rally since his hospitalisation from coronavirus.
The leader, who claims to now be “immune” to the virus and unable to pass it on despite continued rumours of ill health, boasted of his supposed physical prowess in his speech to the crowd in Sanford, Florida on Monday night.
Village People songs were once again blasted out to the crowd despite some controversy over their use, with “Macho Man” drowning out news reporters before Trump made an appearance while bopping to “YMCA”.

The orange-faced leader, who was administered the powerful steroid dexamethasone while hospitalised with coronavirus, threatened to defy social distancing rules by walking into the audience to “kiss the guys and the beautiful women”.
He said: “I went through it. Now they say I’m immune. I feel so powerful I’ll walk into that audience. I’ll walk in there, I’ll kiss everyone in that audience.
“I’ll kiss the guys and the beautiful woman and everybody, I’ll just give you a big fat kiss.”
Trump added: “You know the risk groups, you know the older people ā see, fortunately I’m not an old person. I’m very young and I’m in such perfect shape. I’m in such great shape.”

Donald Trump claims to be ‘immune’ to coronavirus.
Ahead of the rally, White House physician Dr Sean Colney claimed that Trump had been cleared to leave isolation after antigen tests appeared to suggest he no longer has the virus.
However, the reliance on antigen testing over the more reliable PCR test has been questioned, with Buzzfeed noting that the CDC website makes clear it “does not recommend using antigen tests to make decisions about discontinuing isolation”.

No information from Trump’s PCR testing has been released, with the White House repeatedly refusing to make clear when the leader last tested negative.
Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign has announced a planned “Trump Pride” event to take place in Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening (October 13).
The president and senior personnel do not appear to be planning to attend the event, which is set to be hosted by Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, and Richard Grenell, who served previously as Trump’s interim director of national intelligence and wasĀ theĀ first of very few out officialsĀ in the Trump administration.
