Prince – sorry, Lil Nas X divided the internet with a new look at the Billboard Music Awards.

But, he more than made up for it by confirming his new album – “the greatest of all time” – is finally on its way.

Lil Nas X took to the Billboard Music Awards stage in a green snakeskin suit with matching pussybow blouse, courtesy of Gucci.

For one night only, the rapper ditched his trademark cowboy hat for a curly hairpiece, with long bangs swept over one eye.

Accepting the award for Top Hot 100 Song honour, Lil Nas X didn’t waste his words.

“What?” he said to the empty arena.

“Thank you to everybody. Thank you to Billy Ray Cyrus. I want everybody to be on the lookout next month for Nasvember. It’s going to go crazy. In 2021, I’m dropping the greatest album of all time. I love you goodnight.”

While the rest of us face a wait before we hear what he’s has been cooking up, one person who’s already been given a preview is Rihanna.

Lil Nas X shared a snippet of a conversation he had with the singer earlier this year.

Rihanna said in the clip: “I heard a clip of your new song the other day.

“Banging…I’m not just saying that, honest to God, I’m not just saying that.”

It’s thought the song is a track titled “Call Me By Your Name” that he teased on Twitter around the same time.

The new Lil Nas X album will be his first, following his breakthrough debut single “Old Town Road” and the follow-up EP 7.

Nas was just 19 when “Old Town Road” went viral and scaled charts around the world.

A few months after its release he came out as gay, on the last day of Pride Month, but he’s admitted that wasn’t his original plan.

“The honest truth is, I planned to die with the secret,” he told The Guardian. “But that changed when I became Lil Nas X.”
