Kirstie Alley tried to explain why she’s voting for Donald Trump but Bianca Del Rio was having absolutely none of it
After Kirstie Alley laid out her reasons for voting for Donald Trump in the November 3 election, Drag Race legend Bianca Del Rio had something to day.
Alley has emerged as a vocal Trump advocate in recent years, to the dismay of Cheers fans and supporters of human rights in general.
On Sunday (October 18), the actor declared on Twitter that she’d be voting for Trump “because he’s NOT a politician”.
“I voted for him four years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason,” she explained.
“He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it, folks, there you have it.”
Alley’s words sparked a Twitter pile-on, with many calmly explaining to the actor why she was, in their opinion, wrong.
You’re right when you say he gets things done quickly. I mean, 220,000 dead in 8 months? That’s definitely more than any other state leader.
And Kirstie, he’s been president for four years. He might’ve not been a politician in 2016, but he is by definition a politician now.

He got lots done! Exploded the deficit, reduced our standing internationally, encouraged white supremacists, and downplayed a pandemic that has killed over 200k Americans!

Others took a different approach, namely Bianca del Rio.
“Maybe he can make your career great again,” the Drag Race legend replied.
Maybe he can MAKE YOUR CAREER GREAT AGAIN! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂— Bianca Del Rio (@TheBiancaDelRio) October 18, 2020
Soon, Bianca made her own announcement: she’d been blocked by Alley.

But Bianca wasn’t the only one unimpressed by Alley’s stance on Trump.
I would call for all us to cancel Kirstie Alley but that would require us all going to thrift stores to find VHS copies of “Look Who’s Talking” and then burning them. https://t.co/pQNUUZR9sw

Shelly Long was way funnier than you. https://t.co/tksxTX0yiM— Judd Apatow 🇺🇦 (@JuddApatow) October 18, 2020
Good thinking! I’m voting for the guy who bagged my groceries because HE’S not a politician and he always puts my eggs on top! https://t.co/tDJLqeSUCI— Steve Levitan (@SteveLevitan) October 19, 2020
Alley’s outburst comes just over a month after she attacked the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences over its new diversity and inclusion standards.
For the first time in history, Kirstie Alley and Oscars were mentioned in the same sentence, as she called efforts to make the Best Picture category less white, straight and male “a disgrace to artists everywhere”.
“Can you imagine telling Picasso what had to be in his f**king paintings,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
“You people have lost your minds. Control artists, control individual thought… OSCAR ORWELL.”
