10 privileged celebrities who’ve thrown their weight behind Donald Trump, proving they have no concern for LGBT+ rights

While the vast majority of Hollywood stars are backing Joe Biden in the election, a handful of celebrities have made no secret of their endorsement of Donald Trump.
Biden boasts countless A-listers in his camp, including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Mark Ruffalo, George Clooney, Beyoncé, Stephen King, Cher, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Robert de Niro, George Takei, Anna Wintour, Mark Hamill, Lizzo, Eminem and many, many more.
Trump’s list of supporters is… a lot less star-studded, but they’re no less passionate about rallying votes for their candidate. Here the few who have thrown their weight behind the homophobe-in-chief, proving to the world just how little they prioritise the rights and freedoms of LGBT+ people.
1. 50 Cent.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, tweeted out his support for the president with the ringing endorsement of: “I don’t care [if] Trump doesn’t like Black people”.
However, after a very public social media grilling from comedian and ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler, he promptly backpedaled and declared on Instagram: “Fuck Donald Trump, I never liked him.”
2. Kirstie Alley.
The former Cheers actress voted for Obama twice, but switched to the Republicans in 2016. She’s backing Trump for a second term because “he’s not a politician”, and because of Biden’s “racist overtones”, saying nothing of Trump’s racist main tones.
She explained her dislike for Biden in an appearance for Fox News:“When your gaffes are constantly – when he said, you know, ‘You ain’t Black if you’re not voting for me’, and you know, these constant gaffes that have these actual racist overtones”.
3. Lil Wayne.
Trump privately met hip-hop artist Lil Wayne late in his campaign, and the rapper endorsed Trump shortly before election day.
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump,” Lil Waye posted on Twitter. “Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.” Sure, Jan.

4. Samaire Armstrong.
In September, Saimaire Armstrong, best known for playing Anna on The OC, spoke on the Holy Trinity of conservatism: Trump, systemic racism and the police.
Her social media feed has since been flooded with a stream of pro-Trump posts after she claimed Black Lives Matter “is a billion dollar domestic terrorist organisation” composed of a “fascist, far-left mob”.
5. Jon Voight.
Despite being best-known as Angelina Jolie’ father, Jon Voight has pitted himself firmly against his daughter’s liberal views, calling Trump “the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln”.
His lofty opinion of the president might have something to do with the fact that he bestowed Voight with the National Medal of Arts at the end of last year.
6. Roseanne Barr.
Actor Roseanne Barr’s support for Donald Trump is entirely in keeping with her habit of championing bizarre far-right conspiracy theories, including the idea that coronavirus is plot to get rid of boomers.
In June she declared in a video on social media: “Hear me when I say this: Trump is, in my opinion, the first woman president of the United States,” and it seems even Roseanne Barr didn’t know what Roseanne Barr was talking about.

7. James Woods.
The Oscar-nominated actor has been a staunch Trump supporter for years, and reaffirmed his endorsement in 2020.
“Let’s face it,” he tweeted, “Donald Trump is a rough individual. He is vain, insensitive and raw. But he loves America more than any president in my lifetime. He is the last firewall between us and this cesspool called Washington. I’ll take him any day over any of these bums.”
8. Stacey Dash.
The Clueless star began supporting Donald Trump in 2016, coincidentally around the same time that she started speaking out against trans rights, which she claims “infringe” upon her own.
She became an outspoken political commentator and attempted to run for Congress in February 2018, but ultimately withdrew her bid a month later.
9. Kid Rock.
Detroit musician Kid Rock was a vocal supporter for Trump in 2016. He was somehow undeterred by the president’s performance in the following four years as he’s continued his support in the 2020 election.
Kid Rock has been spotted playing golf with the US president and is a regular at his rallies, where he sometimes performs.
10. Brett Favre
The former American football quarterback tweeted his support for Trump on October 30, saying he was voting for “what makes this country great, freedom of speech and religion, Second Amendment, hard working tax paying citizens, police and military”.
The trans activist Charlotte Clymer replied that his endorsement was wonderful news, “given your talent for consistently throwing away games with the career record for interceptions”.
