Mean Girls’ Jonathan Bennett recreates the iconic Jingle Bell Rock routine on set of new Christmas movie
Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett has already taught his co-stars in his new Hallmark gay Christmas film the “Jingle Bell Rock” dance, and we are here for it.
Bennett, who played love interest Aaron Samuels in the iconic film, stars in Hallmark’s The Christmas House, set to air on 22 November. It marks the typically conservative channel’s first ever gay Christmas film.
And the actor, who is openly gay, has already taught his The Christmas House co-stars the legendary “Jingle Bell Rock” dance, originally performed by Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfriend and Lacey Cabers in Mean Girls.
Bennett posted a video of himself doing the “Jingle Bell Rock” dance with his on-screen mother and husband, Sharon Lawrence and Brad Harder, on Instagram.

In the expertly choreographed video, Bennett, Lawrence and Harder walk under a very festive arch on the set of their new film while performing the dance.
“If you weren’t already excited for The Christmas House airing one week from today, maybe this video of Broadway legend Sharon Lawrence doing the jingle bell rock on set with her two gay sons will get you in the festive mood,” Bennet captioned the video.
“She’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom,” he added.

The iconic performance has racked up more than 90,000 likes, as queer fans wait patiently for Hallmark to gift us with its first ever gay Christmas film.
The Christmas House will air on the Hallmark Channel on 22 November. The much hyped film will follow Mitchell family matriarch Phylis (played by Sharon Lawrence) and father Bill (played by Treat Williams) as they summon their grown-up sons home for the festive season to help recreate the magic of Christmas past.
Bennett plays one of the adult sons, who returns to his family home with his husband for the Christmas season.
The film will follow the couple as they anxiously await a phone call about their plans to become first-time dads by adopting a child together.
Sharing the news on Instagram stories, Jonathan Bennett said he was “so proud” to be part of the “amazing project”.
The Hallmark Channel has a stellar reputation among Christmas lovers for its enormous line-up of original festive films each year.
