Sam Smith reveals plan to open their own gay bar in Cambridge
Sam Smith has opened up about their dream to someday open a queer nightclub as well as their plans for a future family.
Chatting to Amazon Music’s Julie Adenuga on Twitch, the Love Goes singer said that when it comes to having children, it’s two or none at all.
But such a goal isn’t happening any time soon, Smith said, as they joked that as much as they’re fond of children, they do cherish the moment they hand them back to their parents.
“I’d like two kids, if I want any,” they reflected.
“I like giving them back when you look after them. They’re wonderful but it is nice to be like, ‘Bye!'”
Elsewhere in the interview, Smith, 28, reflected on how important queer nightlife is to them as they revealed they would love to open a bar in Cambridge, England, called “Crunchy”.
“It would be cool to open up a gay club,” they said.
“I think I would open up a gay bar in the city near where I grew up in Cambridge, as there are no gay bars.
“I’d open it and call it Crunchy.
“The best clubs are crunchy clubs where your feet stick to the floor because of all the shots that have been spilled.”
‘I want to be mummy by 35,’ says Sam Smith.
It comes after Sam Smith said they “want to be a mummy” by 35.
During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, they explained: “I want kids, I want all of it. I want to have kids.
“I want to be with the kids and I want to watch them grow and be with them every day. I want to be mummy.”
Smith continued: “I’m definitely going to do that at some point, but I’ve still got more in me. I’ve still got ambition.
“I try and settle it down all the time and play it down, but I’m ambitious and I would still want to sing to people and do this job. It’s an amazing feeling.”
