Lady Gaga makes long-awaited return to Chromatica with… an Oreo collaboration. It’s safe to say fans are torn

Lady Gaga’s latest collaboration dropped Wednesday (2 December)… into a glass of milk.

Yes, Gaga has of course released a Chromatica Oreo cookie, an unnaturally pink version of the iconic black-and-white biscuit.

No, this is not a hallucination. They’re real. There will soon be Lady Gaga Oreos on your local supermarket shelves early next year.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, Gaga is presented with a pink packet of the Oreos as if she were lying on a Roman klinai and a nervous servant just offered her grapes.

“I decided it was a good idea to have a Chromatica Oreo,” she says in the footage, “which is a pink cookie with green-filling!”

A representative of Oreo confirmed that the biscuits are “pink-colored Golden Oreo cookies with green coloured creme and feature three Chromatica-inspired designs embossed onto the wafer.” Just to clarify, yes, they are pink.

“This collab is inspired by the world of Chromatica, where kindness rules all things,” said Gaga in a statement.

“I love these pink cookies with green creme, and hope they brighten your day as much as they do mine!”

Fans were, of course, quick to dunk on Lady Gaga and her Oreos.

With some crying out for the star to return to Chromatica in a more musical way.

For now, how the Oreos will taste remains an enigma. But we can only pray Gaga received yet another sine from above to know to make them taste of sour candy.

The cookies will be available in six-packs on planet Earth in January, 2021, but for those unable to wait for the chance to taste Stefani Germanotta’s mind, they can sign up for the “Lady Gaga x Oreo Stan Club“. Once again, no, you are not hallucinating this all.

The first 1,000 subscribers will receive a complimentary pack. But for those who don’t sign-up in time, well, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles, we’re afraid.

The hitmaker also announced that she and Oreo are launching the “Sing It With Oreo” promotion 15 December.

It will encourage people to “send uplifting Oreograms to loved ones for the chance to win an assortment of Lady Gaga swag and experiences – including a grand prize flyaway concert and meet and greet experience.”

Oreo added that it will shortly become a sponsor for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation “and help with their efforts in building a braver and kinder world”.
