Cher reveals how two fans valiantly saved her life when a simple handshake turned into violence

Cher has revealed that a pair of fans once saved her from being murdered after a man dragged her into an alleyway in New York City, US.
Chatting to The Guardian’s G2 magazine, the “Believe” singer discussed how she no longer enjoys going out after her gigs because it’s “not safe” as people “rush her”.
She then described the perilous moment she was dropped off at the Martin Beck Theatre and a simple handshake turned into an act of violence.
After a cab left her at the stage door of the theatre, where she was playing Sissy in the Ed Graczyk play Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, a man approached her, she said.
“I had a man try to kill me,” Cher, 74, explained, “I thought he was going to shake my hand, and he grabbed my arm and put it behind my back.
“He started pushing me down the alleyway, and he said: ‘If you make a sound, I’ll kill you.'”
“Two fans, who later became friends, saw something was wrong, and they started screaming and ran towards me, and he ran away.”

Speaking of running away, Cher also commented on how much she despises US president Donald Trump, who once vowed to flee the US if not reelected – we’re sure the threat of prosecutors gearing up for a flew of crimes against him, from tax fraud to violating the emolument clause of the constitution, has nothing to do with it.
“I hate him,” she bluntly said, noting that she’s “never” shown more disdain for someone in “her whole life” than Trump.

“I pretty much disliked [George Bush] when he started those wars, and I could say for a minute it was touch and go for hate,” Cher said.
“But the one thing I know is he loves America and Trump doesn’t.”
She lasered-in on Trump after being asked how she is handling the coronavirus pandemic. “How am I taking it? There are no words that describe it,” she fumed.
“And in my country the president doesn’t believe it has anything to do with him. He doesn’t think he has any responsibility to help us.
“I hate to even call him a president because all he does is watch TV.”
