BBC finally confirms when Drag Race UK will return for season two and suddenly 2021 is looking much better

Drag Race UK season two will premiere in just a few weeks, the BBC has confirmed.
Dust off your brain’s serotonin, because the launch date for the second season of Rupaul’s Drag Race UK has been confirmed – and it’s safe to say you won’t be waiting for long.
Filming for the hotly anticipated sophomore run was halted by the coronavirus pandemic that paralysed the world in March, pausing production indefinitely and tipping the show into uncertainty.
But hope (yes, it does still exist in 2020) was renewed when production completed last month, and now the official release date has been confirmed on the series’ Twitter account.
“Santa called and said you can have one present early,” Drag Race UK tweeted on Tuesday afternoon (15 December).
“The first episode of Drage Race UK series two lands on BBC iPlayer on 14 January at 7pm.”

With the release date confirmed, it’s a double blessing for Drag Race fans after Ru revealed that the 13th season of the American show will return on New Year’s Day.
What do we know about Drag Race UK season two so far?
While the fabulous line-up of queens has yet to be announced, the second season will feature 12 contestants this time around – two more than the first season.
Queen of drag RuPaul is back as host and lead judge, with Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr all returning.
Also reportedly joining the show is The Only Way Is Essex and resident meme queen Gemma Collins, set to trade falling in holes for falling for the queen’s snatches, playing the iconic Snatch Game.
The Diva Forever star reportedly agreed to find time in her busy schedule to grace the Drag Race UK set after weeks of negotiations, with a source telling the Daily Star: “Everyone is thrilled Gemma agreed to be part of the new series. She is a dream signing.
“Snatch Game is all about having a laugh, so Gemma is perfect for it.
“Last series saw contestant Cheryl Hole impersonate Gemma. So to now have Gemma taking part feels like things have gone full circle.”
The BBC has confirmed that a third season will air later in 2021, with RuPaul saying: “We feel honoured that you’ve embraced our little show, and our only wish is that we can offer a smile at a time when we can all use it the most.”
