Britney Spears’ father Jamie hasn’t spoken to his daughter in months: ‘I miss her very much’

Britney Spears’ father Jamie has broken his silence on the ongoing legal proceedings engulfing his family, revealing that he hasn’t spoken to the singer in four months.
The 68-year-old said he misses Britney and that the pair haven’t met since August. They were on “good terms”, he claimed, until she sprung legal filings through her attorney to remove him as her conservator.
Jamie told CNN on Tuesday (15 December): “I love my daughter and I miss her very much.
“When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally.
“I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family.”

His lawyer, Vivian L Thoreen of Los Angles law firm Holland & Knight, alleged that Britney’s legal team are preventing them from speaking.
“Jamie’s relationship with Britney is not that different than your average father-daughter relationship insofar as there has always been a mutual love and respect for each other,” she said.
“Until Britney’s court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham abruptly instructed Jamie not to contact Britney a few months ago, Jamie and Britney had spoken often and regularly throughout the entire conservatorship.
“In fact, they had spoken just the day before and had had a pleasant and collaborative conversation.”
Since her public breakdown 12 years ago, the star has lived under a complex court arrangement which sees her wellbeing and estate, among other things, controlled largely by her Jamie.
But the years-long conservatorship has cast a spectre of constraint on her life that Britney sought to end earlier this year when her attorney moved to suspend Jamie’s involvement.
Britney’s legal counsel claimed that reinstalling Jamie as her conservator would lead to “loss and injury” and that she was “afraid” of her father, adding that the “Toxic” hitmaker would perform again as long as Jamie is involved.
California courts, however, rejected her pleas in November, with judge Brenda Penny saying she would consider future requests for his suspension or removal.
