Ivy Park model Adonis Bosso comes out as sexually fluid and credits ex Slick Woods with helping him realise his truth
Model Adonis Bosso has opened up about being sexually fluid, crediting his ex-girlfriend Slick Woods with helping him become comfortable with his sexuality.
Speaking to The Cut, Adonis said that being with Slick, who was “so open with herself”, helped him become “more comfortable to just be where I am, without necessarily having to feel like I need to answer to anyone”.
He chooses not to use a specific label for his sexuality, saying he doesn’t necessarily believe in them. However he did clarify: “I feel like I could fall in love with anyone, regardless of their sex, or their orientation, or anything. I feel like love is energy.”
Born in Côte d’Ivoire, Adonis is proud of his African and Ivorian heritage, and acknowledged the cultural challenges related to coming out as queer.
“There are still people back home that are looking up to me, it’s still new to them,” he said. “But I’m not afraid.”

Adonis and Slick were together from 2015 to 2018. Prior to their relationship, Slick primarily dated women.
Describing her sexuality to Elle, she said: “With sexuality, when you are a public figure you have to pick a side, black or white. But I’m grey.”
After she and Adonis split, Slick discovered she was pregnant.
She famously went into labour while modelling in Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty New York Fashion Week show, and the pair now have a son together called Saphir.
Adonis revealed that as he raced to the hospital, he followed directions from Erykah Badu, Slick’s doula.
As well as modelling Adonis also makes alternative R&B music, and some of his recent songs recount and lament their breakup.
A recent track, “No More”, includes the lyrics: “I don’t wanna fight no more. I just gotta figure it out. If I even want to stay, if we choose to work it out, tell me it won’t feel the same.”
The animated music video includes a superhero version of Slick Woods as the main character and love interest. Adonis told i-D it was a gift for Saphir.
“He doesn’t get to see Mom and Papa together very often and I wanted him to have that in any shape or form,” he said. “A way for him to know that no matter what, both his parents are superheroes and they will always be there to protect him.”
