Madonna flies to four countries in three weeks despite there being a literal global pandemic
Madonna swapped four minutes for four countries after reportedly flying from the US to England, Egypt, Malawi and Kenya in the past three weeks.
According to The Sun, the pop queen is thought to have travelled more than 11,700 miles as she leapfrogged country borders as part of a weeks-long winter getaway.
Sources close to the newspaper claimed that Madonna and her loved ones all took regular coronavirus tests before and throughout the trip.
The 62-year-old reportedly flew from Los Angeles, California, to London on 24 December with her partner Ahlamalik Williams and son David Banda, 15, daughter Mercy James, 14, and twins Estere and Stella, both eight, on a private jet.
On December 28, the family flew once again – now joined by son Rocco, 20 – to Malawi (where she adopted her four youngest children), following a brief one-day layover in Aswan, Egypt. The outlet also suggested that the singer’s personal photographer, Ricardo Gomes, had also been flown out.
They spent a week in the south-east African country, meeting president Lazarus Chakwera as well as healthcare workers employed at the hospital Madonna founded, Mercy James Centre for Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care in Blantyre, according to an Instagram post.

During her time in Malawi, the “Express Yourself” singer documented her trip on Instagram. She uploaded a video 30 December from a plane, captioning it: “Warm heart Of Africa.”
She also posted various photographs and videos explaining that she is “visiting our home away from home at Home of Hope.” In one video, she visited a centre run by Raising Malawi, a charity that helps orphaned youth co-founded by Madonna.
She said in another: “Visiting David Banda’s ancestral village on the last day of 2020 in Lipunga. Re-connecting with David’s father and extended family.”
On 9 January, she shared her first video from Kenya of her “spending time with the Samburu tribe”, before “visiting the Pokot Tribe in the Baringo Valley“, “swimming in the Alkaline waters of a Volcanic Lake of Turkana” and flying over Mount Kenya.
The Sun claimed that Madonna had travelled to Kenya 6 January.
British tourists flying into Malawi and Kenya do not have to quarantine as long as they test negative within 10 days and 96 hours respectively prior to arrival, according to advice by the British government.
Overseas travellers visiting Egpyt must be tested at least 72 hours before departure, with a negative test presented on arrival to authorities.
