The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular gaming consoles out there.
This is partly thanks to the latest Animal Crossing game that was released last year and helped everyone get through the first lockdown.
From the classic neon and red console to the handheld Lite there’s a number of different versions of the Nintendo Switch to suit everyone’s preferred game play.
Plus there’s an upcoming release of a new edition inspired by everyone’s favourite dungaree-wearing character Mario. Entitled the Mario Red and Blue Edition, it will be released on 12 February and is available to preorder now.

It’s available from Currys PC World for £299, Amazon for £299 and GAME for £349.99 which comes in a bundle with Super Mario 3D World.
The new edition of the console is already proving popular and is listed as Amazon’s current number one best seller. It’s likely to sell out upon its release so if you’re planning on getting it it’s probably best to make sure you preorder ahead of 12 February.
Meanwhile there’s also the Animal Crossing version, which comes in pastel blue and green. It’s available from Amazon at £399.89. The bundle comes with the console and a download code of Animal Crossing: New Horizons for you to play to your heart’s content.

Nintendo Switch Lite: Animal Crossing
The Switch Lite is the handheld version of the console. It’s compact, lightweight and supports Nintendo Switch software. Players can also play wireless and multiplayer with up to eight friends or family who own a Nintendo Switch or Lite console.
Some popular games for the Lite include Minecraft, Pokémon Sword, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game where the player’s character is a human who lives in a village inhabited by animals. They carry out various activities including fishing, bug catching and fossil hunting. Plus you can personalise your own house and island.
