Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson reveals how threesomes helped her discover her bisexuality
Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson has opened up about when she realised she was bisexual – and the sexual encounter with a couple that confirmed it.
Hanson, who came in fourth place on season four of Love Island, admitted to MailOnline she realised she was attracted to women in college, when she found herself “weirdly” jealous of her friend’s boyfriend.
She explained: “I had a friend who I would spend all my time with and then when she had a boyfriend, I would get weirdly jealous.”
The Love Island star also shared how she befriended a female photographer who invited her over for a photoshoot while her boyfriend was there. This invite then apparently turned into a threesome which occurred a “few times”, and Hanson said it helped to confirm her bisexuality.
She explained: “She was a photographer, and she invited me over to take my picture and her boyfriend was there.
“We had a ‘joint thing’ a few times, but I realised he was just ‘there’, and I was actually falling for her.
“That was pretty hard because they had an open relationship, but I was starting to fall in love with her.”
Megan Barton Hanson now proudly identifies as bisexual. She left the Love Island villa in 2019 coupled up with Wes Nelson, but the pair split shortly after. She has since been linked to footballer Chelcee Grimes and TOWIE star Demi Sims, who she met on the 2019 series Celebs Go Dating.
Hanson previously said The Only Way Is Essex star made her “question if I was even gay” because of their lack of emotional connection.
The pair recently reunited on the show Eating With My Ex to discuss the breakup. Hanson said is “so happy” that Sims is now in a relationship, and she praised her for being such a giggly, fun person who is “hard to stay mad at”.
